Penetration testing (pentest, ethical hacking) is a relatively new type of testing that is very important for systems that can be subjected to malicious actions (e.g. payment systems, social networks and other websites and applications that use personal data). In the process of ethical hacking testers try to find bottlenecks within the system’s security and then offer improvements that will help mitigate or eliminate potential risks.
